A must-have for professionals seeking flawless reloads and competitive edge. ## Description Product Description Select the Correct Mandrel Two mandrels are supplied ā€” choose based on your caliber Small mandrel ā†’ required for .17 and .20 cal , also usable for .22 and 6mm Large mandrel ā†’ for .22 caliber and larger (up to .338) Also decide which end of the mandrel to use Small (.060") alignment pin ā†’ for PPC, BR, and other small-flash-hole cases Large alignment pin ā†’ for all standard-flash-hole cases Install the Correct Pilot Stop for Your Caliber Pilot stops are caliber-specific ā€” you need one per caliber (see the pilot stop chart, e.g. #06121 for .22 cal, #06130 for .30 cal). Take an empty, unprimed case and Loosen the mandrel thumb screw and remove the mandrel from the body. Insert the small end of the pilot stop into the case mouth. Slide the mandrel through the pilot stop and into the case until the correct alignment pin projects through the flash hole . Tighten the pilot stop set screw to lock its position on the mandrel. Install the Mandrel into the Gauge Body The gauge body has two different-diameter holes Top hole ā†’ for the small mandrel Bottom hole ā†’ for the large mandrel Slide your mandrel into the appropriate hole until the pilot stop contacts the gauge body , then tighten the mandrel thumb screw. Install and Zero the Dial Indicator The dial indicator is packaged separately to prevent shipping damage. Each graduation = 0.001" . Loosen the dial indicator thumb screw and slide the indicator into the top of the body until its probe contacts the pilot stop . Adjust the mandrel so the probe touches the middle of the caliber-specific diameter on the pilot stop. For very short necks (like .223 Rem), position the probe slightly left of center . Continue pushing the indicator down until the needle completes at least one full revolution and stops at the 12 o'clock position ā€” this gives the probe pre-load. Tighten the dial indicator thumb screw. Rotate the dial face bezel until the "0" aligns exactly with the needle. Measure Neck Wall Thickness and Sort the Cases Slide the prepared, empty case onto the mandrel, making sure the alignment pin enters the flash hole . The dial needle will now read the neck wall thickness at that point. Slowly rotate the case by hand through a full 360Ā° while watching the needle. Note the maximum swing of the needle ā€” this is the total variation in neck wall thickness for that case.
