The stupid thing would not run in auto! If I wanted fog I had to press a button on the remote, I'd get a 8 second burst and then nothing. I actually had it set up to return it. This happened a couple of times and then the day of party came and I needed fog. Since I'd be close by I figured it wouldn't be too inconvenient to man the machine for a few hours. And wouldn't you know it started to work as intended. All of the auto functions worked flawlessly! I did cancel the return and honestly very impressed with the output of this little guy. I still had to keep my eye on it because it put out way more fog than I thought it would and I had to turn it off and on because we were indoors, it was a big enough for like 20 kids 5-9 years old plus the parents, and it got thick real quick.
