Since I am short, if this should crack at the end, I would just saw off and re-cap. Feels sturdy and the poly varnish is evenly done, seems like a genuine leather cord; and not too heavy. I think I can carry comfortably all day at a fair and it will be useful on the uneven ground. Not an outdoor expert but, the imbedded compass seems lite and, well, cheap; it might work - or not.
