Even at regular price, this kit is a bargain compared to some water filter systems out there. It arrived quickly and nicely packaged. The bag is fairly thin and plastic-y, but it will do the trick for keeping the filter clean and protected in my emergency kit or backpack.The filter itself is decent quality plastic, and it contained inside another sealed plastic bag for protection. I opened this one to try, but if I buy additional I will keep them in the sealed bag until I need to use them. The filter was very simple to use (I only tested it on tap water, so can't comment on taste.)The kit also comes with a flint fire starter.
