**Q: How heavy is the knife without box ?**
A: 8-9 ounces, well balanced

**Q: Does the blade discolor?**
A: I've been using mine for about a year and it has not discolored.  I have 5 Tojiro DP kitchen knives that are used on a daily basis.  Not one has discolored and all hold their edge.  VG-10 is an excellent stainless steel for kitchen knives.

**Q: How wide is this knife?**
A: 1.25 inches approx

**Q: What kind of steel is this made of?**
A: What is commonly known as vg10. They are good steel for the money. Not as hard, or as brittle, as more expensive but better than anything German. These are tojiro bottom end because of the knife design and finish.
