One of those 5 pins is output enable and connects to the EN pin. The ad show a 5-pin regulator, and the ad has a schematic showing the 5-pin regulator. Great! Yet I actually received a different HC-05 with a common 3-pin voltage regulator, without the output enable pin. I can't use it. That output enable function is important because by adding an external connection to the onboard switch, and connecting it and the EN pin to two output pins on my micro, I can set the module into AT program mode via software alone, without touching the switch or manually powering the module off and on again. I use this in a product, inside of an enclosure, and through software have provided the end user the capability of renaming the Bluetooth to whatever they need it to be. Without the 5-pin voltage regulator and the output enable function, I can't do that the same convenient way. I returned the 2 modules I had purchased. On the other hand, Sunhokey advertised the 5-pin regulator and that's what I received - and they're getting a good product review.
