Review: Mega Spin plus Breathing Mobile Washer= Independence from Laundromats!! - I love this machine! I live in NYC, in a fourth floor walk-up. I used to take my laundry to a laundromat down the block, but since the neighborhood has gotten so fancy the laundromats can't afford the rent. The closet laundromat is 5 blocks away. I would have to schlep huge bags of laundry up and down four flights. Since most of my clothing is good cotton and silk (and hand washable) I decided to buy the Mobile Breathing Hand washer (very eco friendly) and wash all my clothing in my old-fashioned sink that has a big tub attached. The Spin Dryer is wonderful to use - I even do towels, and then hang everything in the shower, where I've set up a clothes line. It is a pleasure to do my own laundry whenever I feel like it. The Mega Spin is quiet and does a good job in making the clothes 85 percent dry. Dishtowels and light stuff are almost completely dry - towels and jeans take longer. But I really like the machine and the company that sells it. The machine is from Brazil, where many people don't have washing machines. Even if they do - I've been there several times - most don't have dryers. So this is a great thing to have if you have a home and a clothesline. I actually look forward to washing my clothes with the plunger apparatus I use (I also get exercise) and now I can dry things overnight. Makes a hard life a bit easier.
Review: It dries. Sort of. - I've used this dryer for a month now, and I thought I'd share my reasoning for purchase and my observations thus far. Reasoning: I recently downsized to a two bedroom apartment with limited capacity for a washer and dryer. In fact, almost no dryer capacity. I purchased a second hand washing machine that barely fit through the door and wanted to avoid having to take wet clothes to the laundromat. In addition, I'm somewhat eco-conscious as well and the reviews/videos I've seen of these dryers made me really want to try taking one... for a spin. (Groan) Setup: This is light. I had no trouble hiking this up six stairs and then back down six stairs to it's location. I can carry a forty pound bag of dog food if I strain, but I'm not a burly guy. Setup was... confusing. You definitely want to make sure you take the brace out from the bottom before you start it that prevents it from spinning and damaging itself during shipment. There are warning stickers. I didn't pay attention, but caught it very quickly before I damaged the unit. Impressions: This does dry laundry. I've tried it with two scenarios. The first was damp laundry out of a HE spin washer from my laundromat and the difference was negligible... maybe a cup of water out of a single wash load. The second scenario is out of my old school top-loader. This removes easily a gallon of water from that load and gets the clothing... to damp. Buy a drying rack. You'll need it. For sure. When I say load, I'm saying wash load. It takes me five separate spin loads to clear a washer load from my relatively small washing machine. My process is to do a load in the washing machine, split it up into five groups with something heavy on the bottom of each for balance, and then I do other household chores or hang laundry during each of the 5-6 minute spin cycles. If you balance the laundry well, it will come safely to a halt and you can grab each load when it's done. If you overfill it or unbalance it, it threatens to topple over. I never dared try to see if it actually would. Verdict: I can't really do bedding. It's a little tedious. I'm not sure how it will do in a humid summer. I'm not prepared to go back to the laundromat. Yet. I recognize that some folks might pair this with hand/tub wash, and I think it would make a great companion to that approach. I'm not here to defend or recommend my approach, just to describe it, and how it works or doesn't work at the moment.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how does this compare to the nina soft spin dryer?**
A: It is the same in terms of water removal, but the capacity is about 80% larger, and the unit itself is much larger. It is the largest capacity spin dryer on the market.

**Q: Can you fit a comforter in it to spin out ?**
A: Hi. I really like the "Mega Spin Dryer" and use it regularly to spin a double layer of fleece material that fits over a "double" bed (which I use like a comforter) but if your comforter is bigger or thicker than that it may not fit.

**Q: how many rpm**
A: 1600 RPM

**Q: Will this dryer give the same results as a good washing machine spin cycle?**
A: The Laundry Alternative MEGA SPIN DRYER was equal to my Maytag "Neptune" MAH3000 (2nd generation, year 2000) front-loading washer's standard spin cycle but not quite as good as the Neptune's "Max Extract" extended spin process. The MEGA SPIN DRYER is as good, or perhaps a little better, than the high-volume, commercial, front-loading washer I use at my local laundromat.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for you laundry needs if you have a top loader. Otherwise redundant.
*by J***S on February 27, 2017*

This spin dryer does exactly as it says it will, it gets the water out of your clothes and leaves them damp dry. If you have a top loader washing mashine it is a good addition and useful item. But for those of us with front loaders it is not necessary. I have a front loader and discovered that the spin cycle gets out as similar amount of water as the spin dryer does. I am not disappointed in the purchase, and it would be useful, but to me it was a redundancy that is not necessary.
