Weekly water changes aprox. 20 gallons of water in the tank. Seems to keep the water clearer between cleanings and has no harmful effect on the fish or turtles. when first added it makes the tank cloudy but clears within hours. **Q: My pond is just 50 gallons. How much should I use? Thanks!** A: I have a 60-gallon pond and use 5ml at a time. The blue cap on the bottle has a measure for 5ml/10ml, or you can use the other side of the cap (small side) and fill to the top. Also, from the vendor's photos, 5ml = 190L (50 gal). **Q: I have treated my pond twice, both on consecutive days. The water has not cleared. The water is brown and does not have a green tint. Any suggestions?** A: Accu-clear is a flocculant, which means that it causes the particles in the water column to clump together. If you are adding it and not seeing improvement, the other piece to this puzzle is your filtration. Try adding a micro-filtration pad or other finer filter media to the filter. Accu-clear will clump the particles together, but they still need to get caught up by the filter and if there is no media to catch it as it goes through, it will keep on cycling through. If you have a lot of cloudiness, you are going to want to clean that micro-filtration pad 12-24 hours after using the accu-clear so that it does not clog. Hope this helps!
