It is durable when opening it he dropped it right on the ground and it works... my husband dropped it from our kitchen table and it works. For my son it takes forever to load, and explain and with a child patience wears thin with them. I would have thought it would have been a little bit faster knowing a child looses patience quick. The other thing was when I put in a Nemo game it kept going to sign in with the name, and then press the button for the game and did it like 10 times before it would finally load the game. With over $200 worth of games for the L-max in our possession, I started shopping for a replacement game system. I went the Leapster 2 because it was cheaper than the L-max and the games are interchangeable.**Thank you Leap Frog for not trying to rip parents off by not making the old games compatible with new systems!**We have not installed the disc or downloaded any games or hooked the Leapster 2 to the computer at all yet.
