## Description

Clamp-On Bridge Violin Piezo Pickup (Pickup only, no pre-amp)

Review: A Quality pickup - I am on stage at least once a week and have been using an instrument mic for years. I didn't want to use a pick up because I am fussy about my sound quality. As we played larger and louder gigs, i just couldn't get my sound right so I finally broke down and bought a pick up after a whole lot of reading and research. My only regret is I waited so long. I love the sound quality. Yes, it does have that electric sound, just as all pickups do, but I run it through a equalizer pedal and it cleans it right up. The sound is wonderful. I also have a very expensive Yamaha electric and it sounds nicer than that. I was worried that it would dampen the sound because of being clamped to the bridge, but the difference was not huge. Besides, if I have to do something quiet and classical, it takes about 30 seconds to remove it. The plug and clamp is also very good quality and attaches firmly to the violin. It was between The Band and the Barcus Berry. The B.B was half the price and had good reviews so I went with it. Im glad I did. Take note if you have not used a pickup, they all have a more metallic sound, but some are much better than others. For the money, the Barcus Berry really sounds pretty good even without the equalizer pedal.
Review: Great product- easy to set up and nice sound - Bought this for my wife as a birthday present. Wanted something to enable her to move around when performing, and to boost her sound, as she'd previously been stuck playing next to a conventional mic. It took no more than 5 minutes to work out how to attach it to the bridge, then a couple more to get the female socket into the desired position, and then the sound guys just plugged her in, with an immediate, positive result! We've not had a huge amount of time to judge the sound quality, and we cannot compare against other similar products, but compared to standing next to a mic it's a revelation. So, very easy to set up and apparently very good sound- what's not to like?

## Features

- Clamps easily to the violin bridge and connects via cable to the 3100P output jack. Offers wide band frequency response and excellent string balance.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Should i use a right angle cable or a straight cable (to connect the pickup to the amp)?**
A: I have played for 35 years and have always used a straight cord and has never interfered with my bow hand. I am right handed and have always had it to the outer left side so it cant interefere with anything.

**Q: Does this require the use of a preamp?**
A: No, you don't have to have a preamp but you can use one with this mic if you want. I just use my amplifier and it works beautifully. It is very warm and I have not had any feedback from it at all. I really do love it and would recommend it to anyone...

**Q: Can you ship this product to the Philippines? If so, what is the total weight (lbs.) of this item? How much will shipping cost?**
A: Yes, we can ship to the Philippines, no problem. Please see our listing for shipping costs.

**Q: will the pickup affect the acoustic violin negatively? and is it easy to install and remove, do you need extra tools to do it?**
A: I have not noticed any negative effects from installing the pick up on my violins except for a slight buzzing sound if the screws holding it to the bridge are slightly loose. Installation is fairly quick and easy, the tool for tightening the chin rest jack is included, the only thing you'll need is a micro screw driver (phillips head) for those tiny screws on the bridge.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pickup with good fidelity
*by R***Y on March 5, 2023*

There is minimal muting with the pickup installed. The signal is quite good and accurate to the violin in my opinion. You need to tighten the screws on the bridge once in a while. The lower nut needs to be inside the lowest gap cut on the bridge. This then fits well. There can be a bit more cork in the 1/4" clamp; I found it thinner than I like for something that is clamped on to the violin bout and varnish. Also, if you hear a buzzing all of a sudden, it is likely to be the wire touching the top plate of the violin. I typically pull this wire over the tuners so it doesn't touch the top plate of the violin. Good pickup all in all.
