## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is it just 20 inch unfolded? Is it for adults or children?**
A: I don't know what the measurements are on the description... they made no sense to me.

But I bought them anyways on a gamble. And it paid off.

From floor to the top of the cuffs, at the tallest setting they are 110cm tall. At the shortest setting they are 90cm

From the floor to the top of the hand grip at the tallest setting they are 91cm, and at the shortest 71cm.

I am 5 foot 8 inches (174cm) and they only juuuuust go tall enough for me. So hopefully that helps?

**Q: What is the maximum handgrip height of these crutches please?**
A: 91cm when at the longest length
71cm at the shortest.
9 holes to choose from.
The cuff height is NOT adjustable, but the length is pretty good. The open hard plastic cuff which closes with a soft velcro strap makes them easy to fit anyone.

**Q: What is total length of crutch when extended fully**
A: Now!
This is some info I needed when buying them and I couldn't find it anywhere! As a student occupational therapist with multiple disabilities, I know what sizes I need and what works after all these years and training.

So let me help out: :)

The basic measurements are:
*From floor to the top of the cuff, when at the longest setting, they are 110cm, or 43 and a quater inches.
*At the shortest length they are 90cm or 35 and a half inches.

***But! This isn't the best way to know what length you need!***

To get an exact measure for your own body shape, limb length and general size, you need to measure your own length needed.
So get a tape measure, and measure from the wrinkles of your wrist,(where it bends) to the floor.
You need to do this when you are standing straight and your arms are naturally hanging down next to you.

This is the length you need for any walking aid as it is the length you need between the floor and your hand. This is personalised so it doesnt matter how long your arms and legs are, its just where your hands are above the floor. You measure at the wrist because you need a little extra length to actually push down on too.

So from the floor to the top of the hand grip, it is 91cm at the longest setting, or 71cm at the shortest setting.

If your measurement of wrist to ground is between 71cm and 91cm they will be a good fit.

For me, as a 5 foot 8 lady, they are a centimeter or 2 (half an inch) too short to use as full weight bearing, as i would be hunched forwards. But since i use them for balance and abit of support, they arnt a problem.

If you want to weightbear on them though, an OT or Physio would want you to fit in between those 2 measurements. This is to protect your spine and posture.

To help make mine a tad longer, I bought 19mm Proop ferrules to boost them abit. (They are On amazon and I swear by them! Been buying them for years for all my sticks)

These crutches take 19mm ferrules too. So that's a good one to remember if you need new rubber ends.

The cuff height is also NOT adjustable, but it seems just right for many sizes as it's open cuff with a soft velcro strap.

I'm planning on contacting the company to see if they can develop a longer length set as they are fab in every aspect except the length. And if I was a bloke, 5 foot 8 inches wouldn't be that tall really.

Bit I've gotta say, buying them without knowing was worth the risk. They are fab ;)

**Q: Price for 1 or 2 crutches**
A: I received a pair, strong and very convenient for travel, they come in a zip-up bag

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic
*by W***N on 9 June 2022*

These are fantastic! Excellent quality! Fast delivery! Complete with carry bag. Wanted especially to carry when out on mobility scooter. Ordinary crutches too long to transport easily for when I get off scooter. These fold up & are just brilliant invention!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very handy and lite
*by P***S on 24 December 2020*

I use crutches all the time and I find these really comfortable and lite

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wanted some new crutches for permanent use, some questionable design choices.
*by M***G on 2 November 2021*

While my testing so far has been just a short walk to get a feel for the height and any adjustments I need to make I think I've seen enough to review them. The crutches look nice, feel light and are easy to use. The handles feel pretty okay though if you're using them all the time then buying some covers might be ideal as it's just plastic with no padding, they do have grooves to stop your hands sliding off though so that's something. They feel pretty solid walking around and fairly comfortable apart from the handles not having padding.Being a long term user of crutches and encountering the awkwardness of going out and trying to find places for crutches under tables at dinner and chairs when attending a show I though a folding pair would be much more convenient. They also come with a bag to put them in but they'll only fit at the lowest height so it's not very practical to use it to store them unless you want to adjust the height again every time you use them. The cuffs have velcro straps on them that are padded and soft though not to a great extent, another problem with long term use of elbow crutches is the plastic cuffs tend to chafe and hurt your arms so this could be a welcome solution if it's durable and doesn't rub too much in hot weather. The main reason I knocked off a star is the folding mechanism doesn't feel like it'll last long to me. Instead of a locking hinge they achieve the folding by an elasticated string that holds the two pieces together and pulls the bottom into the top to hold it in place when in use. They can be held together with a plastic clip and they do fold quite well but I'm curious how long a piece of elastic will last before it snaps making them completely useless. When folded the string is pulled tight over the edges which looks like it's digging into the string. Along with a fairly basic set of velcro straps and the plastic handles with no padding I start to wonder why these cost so much. I'm sure I'll get some use out of these but if it'll be the years of use I got from my last pair before a padded handle wore out we'll see. My last pair cost less than these and felt more well built just without the folding functionality. If you're fairly tall you might have issues with the height of the crutches as they are quite small. They definitely aren't made for big and tall people.
