This IS NOT for the novice axeman because of the lack of weight...you better have good efficient aim and force to complete your tasks. It is extremely sharp and well made but it does take some getting used to...all their axes are hand crafted and of the utmost quality! You wont find a better axe/hatchet. I own 7 GFB axes ranging from their splitting maul to their mini hatchet and love them all! I wouldnt go any other way. **Q: How come i can get this just about everwhere else for $180 and under but from this place its nearly $250?** A: It’s the same model 425 having the metal collar guard. They seem to have entered their brand name as a manufacturer - either in error or for self-promotion purposes. Unfortunately, changing the description of the existing listing is often times an uphill struggle with Amazon.
