The screws which I'm guessing are supposed to be self drilling are so short that even if you're right on the stud, you'll only get something like a 1/4 to 1/8 " of embedment. Additionally, the screws are set so deep in the box, that the box wants to slide in behind the wall. I'd advise staying away from this and either using the more expensive boxes with the flaps or go through the rather laborious process of making your own. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I use different screws *by P***E on Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2021* The screws that come with the Smart Box appear to be 1 5/8” long, dry wall screws with fine thread. I have found that installs are easier, but still secure, when I use coarse thread screws. This is probably because the screws are installed at a 45-degree angle. Fine thread screws work better when they are installed at a 90-degree angle to the surface. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked perfectly *by L***A on Reviewed in the United States on September 1, 2021* I was replacing a light fixture in my hallway and I noticed the original 1975 version of the box was no longer attached to a stud. I only had a 5 inch hole in the wall to work with and had no idea how to reattach short of crawling through a small crawlspace in the ceiling. I saw this product and decided I have nothing to lose. It worked perfectly. One thing I would like to point out is before you install it make sure you run the screws back-and-forth before attaching it to the stud. It was very sturdy and roomy and I now have my light in the hallway knowing it is done properly.
