However, that is soon forgotten when you turn it on and it lights up the work bench or under it. Or on a walk in the dark - where all those 'shovel-ready' roads are still broken up, and you need to watch where you put your feet. I have one that I attached a well-used 9v to - it started in a smoke detector, moved to a CW practice key, and then to lighting my bench. Now, near the end of it's very useful life, 9v doesn't work too well on 6 led bulbs, but still works fine on 2. As an experiment, I left it on for 3 consecutive days, and it still lights up. I like these easy-change lights as much as the light-weight, one-use, throw-away lights with button batts that are hard to find in a pocket. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as alkaline but a good deal for the price *by H***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2016* I bought two of these packages of eight. They were delivered two days sooner than expected. I tested all sixteen units and found no defects. Each unit comes with a 9v zinc-carbon battery that you have to attach. Not as good as alkaline but a good deal for the price. The switch has 3 positions:left lights all six LEDs, center position is OFF, and right lights the two center LEDs. The light output is similar to a much larger non-LED flashlight. When shone on a wall there is a "hot spot" like you get with a focused beam. There are simple ways to diffuse the light such as with a white handkerchief. There is nothing on the unit that would allow you to attach it to a cord or anything. With the battery provided it weighs 43 grams. With an alkaline battery it weighs 53 grams. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very handy flashlight. *by L***G on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2021* Definitely not the brightest flashlight, but still very good.These are great to use with drained 9v batteries taken out of smoke alarms.Smoke alarms will alert you when you need to replace the battery.
