There was no real convenient way to place diffusion gel on my small LED panels, so it definitely fills a need. Opening the package was a bit disappointing though because it looked and smelled like a 99 cent pool toy and a couple of strips of velcro. Now, I'm not necessarily calling it overpriced, because there are economic factors of product design and manufacturing on a very small scale (there are probably not a ton of these getting made and sold) I just wish I didn't have to pay so much for so little.Functionally, it is okay. I use the larger Sony-style batteries on the back of my LED panels and the velcro straps go right over the top of them, so it's a bit fiddly getting it attached. I use regular diffusion gels on the barndoors of my larger LED panels, and it seems like the setup time and diffusion quality is roughly the same. The thin vinyl tabs that attach to the velcro straps look precarious at best, but for all I know could hold up fine. There is a vinyl repair patch kit that comes with it in case it gets torn or punctured. I hope to not have to use this, but sort of expect that I will at some point.So far the pros outweigh the cons as I now have soft, even, portable battery powered variable color temp lighting.Update: So after a half dozen or so shoots the inevitable happened and one of those little vinyl tabs tore off. Bummer. Here's the good part though - I wrote the guy that makes these and sent him pictures of what happened and he sent me replacement units that have a new design that looks a ton better. The design looks much more integrated and the straps don't look like they are going to tear off with the new ones.
