I just bought a different one that's cardboard covered with thin nylon material. :(** A: I don't know if it's EVA or not as I cant see what's under the fabric cover.... and am not a plastics expert. However, it does not appear to be cardboard as it seems to hold it's shape and be resilient against moderate crushing pressure. Cardboard would act differently as this product does. My guess is it's probably some sort of nylon shell, or polyethylene. It protects the Bose speaker well. Worth noting also... is the fit is a bit loose. It snugs up pretty well if the Bose Mini is also encased in it's own durable plastic protective case. ( probably a semi flexible blend of nylon ). Otherwise, without this on the speaker, it rattles around inside the Eco-Fused Carry case. The durable plastic case mentioned is available from Bose for $25, or 3rd party manufacturers for about $8. I've bought both for several of these speakers I own, and can't tell the difference between them. You'll be much happier using both together. Some manufacturers off them both "bundled" together. Another similar case I've purchased is made by an outfit called "Regoo". I like it better than the Eco Fused ( tighter fit. But haven't been able to find another one since purchasing the first one on Amazon. If u can't find it, the Eco-Fused will do the job when used with the speaker cover. However, when used with a protective cover ( available from BOSE for $25 or elsewhere on Amazon about $8 ) the speaker will fit in the zippered case more snugly.
