Review: Changed My Travel Experience - I have been traveling professionally for about twelve years now, and have spent plenty of money on various noise cancelling headphones during that time. Several Bose products, Apple AirPod and AirPod Max, Sony, Bang & Olufsen, Beats, and others. With everything I've tried, I concluded that earbuds are a no-go for me. I can't get them to stay in my ear. So my most recent option was the overpriced and decidedly not travel friendly AirPod Max. They are fantastic, but you have to make so many compromises (weight, portability, case, size, comfort etc.). After Apple released the new AirPod Pro 2, I decided to circle back and give them another go. Sure enough, the included earbuds just won't stay in, at least not well enough for me to travel through busy airports with confidence they won't end up on the floor somewhere. Since my AirPod Max had to go in for service, I was determined to make the ear buds work. I considered various ear hook options, but that leads to issues with the charging case. I am familiar with Comply as a brand, because they make various ear buds for use in audiology, which is my field. If they are good enough for professional hearing testing, maybe they can work with Apple too. I have been hugely impressed. My longest flight so far has been about 3.5 hours. No comfort issues. Great sound blocking. And I have not felt even the slightest concern that they are going to fall out. So finally, after various products, and literally giving up on this form factor, I have found a third party ear bud that allows me to use the excellent AirPod Pro 2 without fear of them falling out. It's been a few weeks and a few business trips, and they are still doing a great job. They fit nicely in the charging case without any special requirements. They stay on the product correctly. In short they did exactly what I wanted them to. I began by ordering a multi size pack to check my size, and then ordered some more in my chosen size. Just a great buy, and it has radically lightened the load in my backpack, and freed up so much space that my old headphones used to occupy.
Review: Definite upgrade over the stock silicone tips - These were an immediate, obvious upgrade over the tips that come with the Airpods Pro out of the box. The fit, seal and comfort are all better with the Complys. I had issues with the stock tips where I had to use a different size for each of the earbuds, but even then one of my ears didn't feel like it had a great seal, and it felt like that one earbud was always in the verge of falling out. The Comply tips resolved every single issue I had, and I'm even using the same size on both ears now LOL. For first time purchasers, I'd definitely recommend getting the variety size pack, the one with S, M, & L because I wouldn't assume (for instance) that a medium Comply tip will fit exactly the same as the stock medium tip. These are a softer foam material that you squish before putting inn your ears, then they expand to seal better. My only concern is the durability of the foam - by nature of this being a much softer foam material, I’m pretty sure it’s easy enough to tear them. They pop on to the Airpods just as the stock tips do, but I nearly ripped one up completely when swapping it out, testing out each size's fit. They snap on really easily, just like the stock ones, but they're on there tight and a bit harder to remove, at least without damaging the foam. Just don't come into this thinking they'll last forever, because I'm sure they won't. I fully expect I'll end up buying another set in maybe like 3-6 months, but for me it's worth the cost...because these make my experience with Airpods Pro much, much better. I don't think I'd be able to continue using the Pros happily without foam tips. You just need to decide if the durability trade off will be worth it for you, but it's a no brainier for me...the Complys are better in every other way. They also fit into the charging case just fine, no issues closing/opening/charging.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are the s/m/l sizes equivalent to the sizes of the s/m/l tips apple provides with airpods pro?**
A: Yes

**Q: Do they pass ear tip fit test?**
A: Nope! I have not found any size or position in which these tips will pass the ear fit test. And with Apple's large tips, I can pass every time without issue. Of course, those don't stay in my ears which is why I bought these. However... the seal on these foam tips actually feels and sounds good, so I actually feel confused about why they won't pass the fit test even once.

**Q: Will these fit the new AirPods Pro 2 - including the charging case?**
A: Yes. I have the medium sized tips and they work on AirPods 2 and fit the charging case

**Q: Should you be squeezing the memory foam tip for its fit every time you put them on? or just the first time? absolutely loving the product so far!!**
A: Prepping the tip should be done every time you place them in your ears to ensure they expand into a perfect seal with your ear canal!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, but their useful life is WAY too short for the price
*by D***D on May 13, 2025*

I got these today and have tried them for a couple of hours; so far, so good. I’m familiar with memory foam in earplugs. I’ve used them for years to sleep, so I knew the routine about squeezing them, putting them into the ear canal and letting them expand to make a solid seal. They do that fine, and it does make a difference in both the noise cancelling and the delivery of the deeper bass range of songs. What I’m a bit miffed about is their life. According to the carton they came in, Comply ear tips only last about three months. After that, presumably, you have to order another set. After finding out which of the three included sizes (small, medium, large) you need, you would order a pack of three in that size, so you’d end up with about nine months’ worth of ear tips for the same cost as the original starter pack. But less than a year’s worth for $21? I get a bag of sleeping ear plugs for a couple of bucks, and they last longer than three months each. I know Airpod ear tips have to be designed and engineered with more precision, but the cost for their short life still seems excessive. One additional benefit of the Comply tips is because they are foam and not silicone, they don’t “slide” in your ear. So with the combination of the foam expansion and the fact that foam isn’t slippery like silicone, these things stay put.
