I have it on a Y-based microphone stand but the feet are sticking out a bit too much for the location.** A: I use a standard mic stand with the round steel plate at the bottom. I have carpet in my studio and the weighted steel plate seems to keep the stand and speaker firm on the ground. **Q: The volume seems much less from the one mono cube than my stereo monitors and I have to turn the volume way up. Do you find the same thing?** A: The ones I have are good volume wise. I usually turn the knob so that its half way up. Really don't need to turn it up any more than that. Once again they have done it here with their tribute/rip off of the Avantone Mixcube. The purpose of this grot box is to hit your ears with nothing but mid-range frequency so that when mixing you can adjust the soundstage in mono and boost or cut lo and hi frequencies an octave away from your main speakers. This gives improved clarity and punch to your mix and ensures it translates well to "sub-optimal" sound systems. The intentionally awful sound gets some getting used to but this is a really useful tool for audio production.
