My two ton York heat pump stopped cooling when temperatures dropped below 74 degrees. After having the dealership come out and then leaving when unit started working ( because the outside temperature rose above 74), and charging me a $150.00 for a no fix, I had to educate myself online and fix it myself. On the heat pump this temperature control is designed to cut off unit in heat mode when outside temperature is too cold( normally set at around 40 degrees). The controller was cutting the heat pump out at 74 degrees and this also will not allow the cooling mode to function. After discovering the problem I ordered this controller.
