This is laid out more like a textbook on Executive Protection, than a "how to" which really has to be learned out in the field, anyway. Don't expect too much hands-on, practical information. However, the topics he covers, and his depth of knowledge on each topic, are great foundations and knowledge base to give a context and understanding to complement the practical skills that can only be gained by doing, anyway.  Very good material, some good checklists, and well written, even if it can be a bit wordy or more intellectually oriented, and less action than some might prefer.  Anyone seriously contemplating this field of work should own this book.

Mr. Oatmans latest book Executive Protection New Solutions for a new Era covers many areas that other do not or even think about.  The "Life Bag"  for the executive was an excellent idea and I plan to use this idea in the future.Mr. Oatmans book offer for his checklist of items for executive protection was also very useful.

The first book in Executive Protection from Mr. Oatman,  concentrates more on the pre 911 days, nevertheless things are still updated and work this days... the best thing is to buy the first book, read it, and then read the Executive Protection New: Solution for a new Era. This second book, deals with the post 911 solutions, so they complement themselves......
