## Description

Equine Technologies| Proven effective| Works in the deepest hoof layers| Removes remnants of damaged hoof| Effective with just one application| For best results use with CleanTrax Hoof Soaking Boot| CTRAX|

Review: Works. Difficult to use. Needs tall soaking boot and lots of time. - Purchased as a treatment for white line disease of horse hoof. This is an interesting chemical which is FDA approved in humans for bladder irrigation. It is also used in management of decubitus ulcers (bedsores). It is marketed as an unapproved drug for veterinary use, and in that role is sold direct to the consumer. One small container is mixed with a gallon of tap water, and the liquid is used in a tall soaking boot, also marketed by CleanTrax. The tall boot supposedly forms a column of liquid sufficient in pressure to "drive" the mix into the infected hoof. The soaking boot is left on for 45 minute, and then the leg is sealed in a plastic bag for an additional 45 minutes to trap the antimicrobial gas which is produced in the hoof. This gas kills both bacteria and fungi. This one and one half hours is an eternity for keeping most horses calm and immobile. Thank goodness only a single treatment is recommended in the product instructions. My vet, however, recommended 5 treatments, one every other day. unfortunately the soaking boot is not up to this regimen. I needed to buy a new boot for each soak, making this a pretty pricey treatment for white line disease. It does seem effective, though. I saw no effect of the chemical on the rest of the leg and bay hair was not bleached. once the chemical is mixed with water the mix supposedly is effective for a three hour period, so the same mix can theoretically be used for all 4 hooves, soaked one after the other. Of course course that requires your horse stand patiently for three hours. This is is a chlorine reaction based chemical. I did note that my other horses seem to love licking up the discarded or spilled solution, and the treated one licks their leg while still wet with it. It’s probably best to hose it away to prevent this.
Review: Relieves Abscesses Quickly - Terrific stuff for lame horse with an abscess. Your horse must be patient and willing to stand With his foot in a bag (i use an old IV bag with the top cut off and duct tape. Works great. Per my veterinarian s instruction i use only a half bottle per treatment. Clears up an abscess Better than anything ive ever used. No daily soakings..just one treatment that takes about 1.5 hours to administer.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can a bottle be used for more than one treatment? I have a tall soaking boot.**
A: Yes, you can soak a second hoof using the same solution you used on the previous one. Just make sure you are within the 3 hour period following the initial solution preparation. You can also mix solutions with less than the full bottle. One bottle makes one gallon, half a bottle makes 2 quarts, etc. The height of the soaking boot is not critical, just use enough solution to cover the hoof up to and including the coronary band.

**Q: What are the ingredients?**
A: Ingredients: CleanTrax Hoof Cleaner contains the active ingredient oxyclorsine.

**Q: Will the one bottle do all 4 feet?**
A: No. Technically 1 bottle is PER foot. I stretch it out and use 1 bottle for 2 feet. My farrier recommended cleaning my boy's foot every couple weeks, especially in spring you might want to do it 2x a month. I know this stuff isn't exactly cheap but it works

**Q: Can clean track be used on shod horse ?**
A: It can but works bette rif shoe is pulled so it can penetrate the abscess

This stuff works great. My mare has gotten two back to back abscesses in the safe hoof. I have soaked and never really got much drainage from it. She has been on antibiotics. I used a treatment of this stuff and I could not believe the amount of stuff that was removed from her hoof. I will definitely be purchasing this again to keep on hand. Hopefully now I can get this abscess cleared up.
