Mostly use it for colored pencils, but have used it for regular as well.  Works great on both!Stops automatically when it's sharp, so there's no guessing or breakage - and has 3 different settings for sharpness.  Have had it for months now, I use it daily, still working great, and haven't even had to change batteries yet!Holds a lot of shavings.Easy to empty.Batteries last a long time.Auto stop.3 sharpness settings.What more could I ask for!  Love it!

This thing does not work with colored pencils.  I tried two different brands of pencils, at the various settings on the sharpener, and I always got chewed up, broken tips.  I've wasted more than enough pencil on this sthing.  RETURNED.
