What size is the burner?** A: I use Revere Ware pots, so the size may not match your brand, but will boil water in an eight quart ( 10 inch ) pot in a reasonable time. The burner measures 6 inches across. For what it's worth, I got the burners (2) for reducing tomato sauce for canning. They work fine for that.Tom **Q: How long is the cord? Is it 3 prong?** A: Not a very long card and yes it is a 3 prong. Be careful with the dial because the numbers on mine rubbed off by the 2nd use. Hope this is helpful. :) **Q: Is the element 'tiltable' for easy cleaning of the metallic reflector ?** A: No, it doesn't clean easy. About all I can do is take a wet towel and push it between the coils and get what I can get. **Q: It says there's an automatic shutoff, if I need to cook something for a long period of time (few hours) it's not going to just shut off, right?** A: It shuts off in about 20mins.
