The threaded part of the bolt is about 35mm long. The plastic ring has an inset where the locking nut fits in to prevent it rotating while installing, and there's a locking washer for the other side.This should work pretty well if your fork/frame has a diameter from ~37 to 40mm, but would work even better at slightly smaller sizes using some rubber or padding to keep it snug. It might be a better option to order the 40-43mm size if you need to fit a 38 to 40mm diameter, then use padding to fill any gaps.Giving 5 stars since it does exactly what it needs to, even though I think the advertised sizing is too optimistic.
