When used with INSTA-SET, it works better than any putty for modifying or filling voids. It can be carved with a knife or razor blade and sanded and feathered to form a finish indistinguishable from plastic. MAXI-CURE bonds fiberglass, hardwood, metal and rubber better than any other hobby adhesive. For gluing to the inside, cloth textured surface of fiberglass, scrape the area to be bonded with a razor blade or coarse sandpaper before using MAXI-CURE or any other adhesive. But I had a big dragon with relatively heavy wings and akward to hold in place while glue dried. I tried different 2 part epoxy from one syringe, and tried "5 minute glue" and when I would try to glue it and do my best to prop up the wing even after hours it didn't seem to hold right. For some reason I tried this, "unknown" glue and OMG. I put a tiny glue in the whole of the wing and spray the "activator" on the male part of where the dragon wings attach and I place them together and LITERALLY 10 seconds it's hard, within a minute it's permanent. I'm AMAZED. I've used it on many different projects and it lasts a long time. This was second purchase of it. The ONLY time it's failed is my car window motor broke and window wouldn't stay up. So I tried to line a whole trail of glue on top of window and sprayed rubber part. Held window up for a minute, let go and it was fine. Lasted about a week then window came lose and dropped. I'm not sure if I didn't use enough glue or didn't spray right. Amazingly it lasted for nearly a week after only holding in place for literally a minute. But I THINK it's because I did something wrong, not the rain or heat the only day it was warm 2 weeks ago. Anyways, this stuff is amazing BUY IT if you need glue EVER. No CA adhesive is necessary as the gems will attach themselves on a quantum level to to gauntlet. Take care, however, as once placed no amount of solvent will detach gems, so I recommend using worthless gems like diamonds for a 'fit 'n finish' test. **Q: Does this bond silicone (platinum cure or rtv or both)?** A: No it will not. **Q: does the accelartor leave marks on the wood? Using it for picture frames.** A: No, the accelerator did not leave marks on the wood when I used it on hardwood stairway handrails to do a return. **Q: Anyone use this to fill a gouge in a bowling ball?** A: Bowling balls are usually urethane or polyester resin based. You are probably better off using epoxy for such a repair. JB Weld should work. If the gouge was huge and the bowling ball expensive, you could spring for a polyester resin based product such as what you would use for fiberglass work.
