Thicker 125 Version Has Great Theft Resistance. Velcro Straps Take Longer Than Other Locks Quick-Clip Stows *by M***L on Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2015* Love the style, look, and light weight.While any bicycle lock can be cut quickly with a portable angle grinder, it seems most thieves use bolt cutters or pry devices. The thicker 125 version of this lock is substantially more resistant to bolt cutters than the thinner 75 option and u-locks, and both Ti Gr thicknesses are much more pry resistent than standard size u-locks. Smaller u-locks are more pry resistant than larger u-locks, as there is less leverage space.Like most locks, this has the ability to scratch bicycle paint and bodies, and objects it is locked to.While most of the lock body is encased in thin clear plastic to reduce this effect, wherever the thin blade edge drops on paint or bicycle body while handling - or bounces on a bicycle while riding - slight damage will be done.So if this matters to you, use one of the enclosed velcro straps snugly near the front while riding, and one snugly near the back, to keep the lock from bouncing anywhere on your paint or frame while you ride.Also consider applying clear racing tape (I got mine at the same time here on Amazon) to your bicycle to protect the paint. Or add racing tape to the blade edges of this lock to further reduce or eliminate paint damage.The Amazon description did not say a pair of velcro straps is included, so I spent $ buying a pair separately. Probably a good idea to have a second pair though, for when the first wear out or are lost. The rounded ends of the velcro tabs are so thin that the manufacturer should put a little tab there, to make it quicker to peel it away from itself and loosen the straps. If there is no precipitation, I just stick the lock down into my unclosed pannier to save strapping & unstrapping time.But if you DO stick it straight down into your pannier, the two little black rubber bands near the ends of the blades (to reduce abrasion risk to your bicycle) will rub themselves off the blades, into the stuff in your bag, and be lost.I bought both an XL bicycle and the largest (30") version of this lock. The lock is good sized compared to the bicycle, so the lock is a bit unwieldy to handle, carry, and use. It sticks out a little behind (& below) the seat while stowed for riding. If you want better aesthetic and for it to consume less space, get the next size down. The shorter version will, however, reduce your locking options. And the 75 wide version will have substantially less bolt cutter resistance.Due to the velcro straps for in-transit storage of this lock, u style locks are quicker. Especially if you have a quick-click bracket on your bicycle to hold a u-lock.But u-locks may be even more prone to paint and body scratching, especially if and when the plastic or rubber coating on a u-lock starts degrading. Or when you accidentally bang the metal u ends on your bicycle before putting the u back inside its lock bar. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ He said it is great. He was right.The lock is great and is great quality.
