I used it on oil based paint, stain, urethane wood finish, and pigmented shellac. All of them set up nicely. I did have to use a lot of it -- went through two packages for around 1.5 gal in total. The quart of shellac took one package all by itself.But it sure beats the alternative of mixing the paint with kitty litter and waiting 2 to 3 weeks for it to set up.
