They have been cared for as per the recommendations, so I’m not sure why they are so difficult to operate. These are a really great idea to have the ice pack in the top which allows me to keep just certain foods cool; however, I find the lids harder to get off which has me wondering if my youngest can open it at lunch each day. I also have to really be diligent to make sure the tops get all the way on. On a plus side, they are easy to clean, good variety of sizes and haven’t leaked (I’ve been very careful to pay attention to the lids).
