Even though it says "surface washable" only?** A: i actually did put this in the washing machine when my puppy got ringworm. And I have to say, it came out looking like my first teddy bear. Meaning not good. This Does NOT machine wash well at all!!!! DO NOT WASH IN MACHINE!!! otherwise you can say goodbye to your cute lil animal. I kept it b/c it's my dogs toy, but will eventually be getting a new one :( **Q: Is this dog bean filled?** A: No. It is very soft and my 20 month old granddaughter loves it. **Q: How are the eyes attached to theface?** A: They are safety eyes. It was his favorite toy, and he often pretended to be a small dog himself. He loved his Muttsy into "Velveteen Rabbit" condition. And kept it through the years. So when we got our little fur baby ( a toy Maltipoo named Charlie ) a couple years ago, my fiancé brought out his treasured old Muttsy for Charlie to play with. Muttsy was three times our little Charlie's size at that point- but it was love at first sight. Charlie has since grown to almost Muttsy's size and has loved him almost to pieces. That's why we purchased this new Muttsy as a substitute companion for our tiny dog. Muttsy arrived quickly, in good condition- no odors, etc. We quietly slipped the old Muttsy out of sight before introducing his replacement. He is soft and cuddly and holding up well to Charlie's great affection for him. These are well made and durable as well as adorable. And incidentally- our little Charlie never has tried to "hump" a human the way some small dogs do. We believe it's because he turns to Muttsy when he feels the urge. ( Muttsy machine washes well on handwash cycle ) So if you or someone you know, have a small dog that is in the habit of mounting small children, or people's feet or legs, Muttsy may be worth a try. In addition, Charlie sometimes curls up to snuggle and sleep with Muttsy, if we are unavailable for that when he wishes to nap.
