The boards are lightweight, have a crossbeam in the middle for support, and are pre-sanded. The corners were a little banged up from shipping, but not so much that it ruins them in any way. I primed them first, then drew on the design. After that, I masked the lines and painted in the designs. Finally, I added gloss to protect the boards from flying bags, which were included and were great quality. I'll definitely order more boards for future projects! ### ⭐ Not Great Wood *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2019* I ordered this game a while back, and unfortunately, it got wet during the first use. We dried it and it seemed fine. I decided to stain the games, to give them a better look. The wood had dark black stains all over. I figured perhaps the wood was damaged, so I ordered another two sets (thinking the new ones would turn out better). I sanded and stained the brand new set, and the wood looked EXACTLY the same. I've stained many pieces of wood and they never looked like this. Clearly the wood isn't great. Not happy at all. Attaching a picture of the wood with stain. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not in compliance with regulations *by L***1 on Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2018* It appears to be of good quality, but the top board is supposed to be at least 1/2 inch thick with a cross support underneath or 3/4 inch without the support, these are only 3/8 with a cross support. These cannot be used for tournament play.
