I use one a day, at the end of the day and it does a great job of removing any grime that is left on my face after washing. The pads are not "soft", but provide a decent amount of friction to thoroughly scrub your face. I understand that you cannot shrink the size of your pores, but I feel that it helps to remove a lot of the junk that can accumulate in them. The case does a good job of closing and keeping the pads moist.
