They resolved all of the issues I needed them to: -I use the largest pad size of these and only have to lay down 2 in their "potty" area and they don't miss! I used to need 3-4 disposable pads to cover the same area and had to clean up misses constantly. -These pads control odor MUCH better than the disposable pad. I clean up the solid waste and the pads last an entire day without smelling. I replace them with 2 washed pads every day. Even when I bought "odor control" disposable pads, since the urine turned to gel they got very smelly, very fast. I wound up going through 12 pads a day sometimes. -These pads stay in place. They are larger so they have a little more weight to them and they stay where I put them. -These pads wash VERY well. These are some of the best quality ones we've purchased for my elderly mom. However, they do leak straight through. We layer 2 of these on top of each other, then another large one (different brand) underneath. Sometimes the urine leaks through both onto the 3rd, if only slightly by then. We've had these a few months & this happened even before a first wash. **Q: Can they be put in the dryer?** A: Yes they can go in the dryer. No fabric softener. **Q: How much does it absorb? Want to use this in place of puppy pads in guinea pig cage under the fleece.** A: I have a senior dog that weights 77 pounds. These pads are highly absorbent! The disposable XL pads were costing me $40.00 for a box of 50 pads. I have saved a fortune. So far these pads have held up with daily laundering and are still stain free. They wash and dry beautifully - I wash in cold water and dry without adding laundry softener. **Q: do i have to wash them before using them?** A: That's totally up to you. I don't recall there being a label advising one way or the other. I tend to wash most items before using that come in contact with the skin. Love them and will continue to buy them every few years. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ NON-SLIP, COMFORTABLE & DOESN'T FALL APART DURING WASHING!! *by K***T on November 25, 2025* Excellent pads, they are heavy so they don't move easily and hold the bladder leaks, but still protects your skin as the pad absorbs overnight leaks or bladder issues easily drying quickly, while still protecting your mattresses. The thick cotton fabric does not allow the pad to stick to your skin or clothing as some pads do. A bit stiff, because they are a heavier pad, but they don't fall apart when machine washing or drying in the dryer. The size is great it almost fits from one side to the other, crosswise on a 42 inch mattress. The deep dark blue color is a perfect match for my cotton sheets.
