**Q: How many pieces?**
A: Nice large scale model.  Nice detailed kit.   About 50 pieces  Easy to assemble.

**Q: How do you paint the actual capsule - spray paint? Or with a brush?**
A: I will highly recommend that you 'spray paint' a primer - dark grey, to act as a key (after firstly washing in mild washing up liquid / drying), followed by a charcoal black finish. The figurine mercury astronaut spray painted with several coats of primer, then hand painted for more realistic textured metalic spacesuit finish, where brush strokes are a benefit.
