I got this book because of the false advertising of it that was done on social media. I read an Inspiring quote from the book that applied to life and relationships on Jeffs social media. Inspiration and great writing was what I was hoping for when I got the book and it was anything but inspiring.. perverse is a better word to describe the book. Selling Infatuation... (the kind where people know nothing about each other and are thrown into chapters worth of unnecessarily descriptive sex ). ..as sacred is dangerous. For a romance novel, that makes sense but not in the realm of spirituality. Placing Fabio on the cover of this book would have helped me save money so I knew what I was purchasing. I’m appalled that the book markets to a spiritual community where the only thing remotely spiritual about the book was calling the characters’ sexual organs Godly. And even going as far as having the characters worshiping each other as though they are gods. That’s the last kind of love I would wish on anyone. Unhealthy, unrealistic, ungrounded. The pacing and character development were "off"; it was as if he was trying to "re-tell" a personal story and hurry things along too quickly. The characters flip flopped from being incredibly flawed in a believe-able way and relatable to being incredibly un-likable and lacking any dimension. substance, or backstory. And, while the divine feminine is beautiful and erotic inherently, the author's discriptions of physical intimacy were overthought and descriptive to the point of being unrealistic and seemingly scripted to make a point versus feeling authentic to the narrative. The only reason I gave it 3 starts vs. 2 was because, again the "snippets" of wisdom and observation sprinkled throughout were thought provoking.
