I bought the brighter red, which most closely resembles a maraschino cherry. They are sturdy but not too heavy and are about three inches long from lobe to drop. They are a little awkward to put in, as you have to look at it in the mirror to see the little hole on the cherry. My only complaint is that the bar that sits on the lobe is a little wide and bumps into my other earrings, but it's definitely not a deal breaker.
