Although my experiences are from great lake fishing on 20lb. or less fishing line. So I cannot honestly comment on heavier applications, like Saltwater fishing. But it is a nice product to cut line, like butter. I accidentally purchased the "Cheater Snip" version last time. Thinking it was the same smaller pair as previous. But even that larger pair cut my 10lb. braided line nicely. Though the magnifying glass attachment was a little hard to use (too small of a lens plus the Angle of adjustment to zoom in clearly) made it difficult for its function.
