The kit was well protected and packed. Easy to put together. Seems sturdy enough, reminds me of the enlarger stand I used decades ago. I do hope it holds up since I will be using it for a long time. I have many boxes of negatives and pictures to save digitally. I'm sure I will find other uses for it. The cell phone holder was a unexpected and very welcome extra bonus. This will be an appreciated steady third hand. Thank you for making this stand in the USA. We need more companies manufacturing in the USA. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Reasonably sturdy and well-built but no tilt adjustment *by T***E on July 9, 2024* I bought this copy-stand to do "DSLR scanning" of some 35mm slides. The fatal flaw of the setup is that there is no way to adjust the "tilt" angle of the camera. My camera hangs on the L bracket at a tilt angle of a couple degrees, which is enough that the not all of the 35mm slide will be in perfect focus. An additional "tripod leveling base" (or at least a shim) is necessary to accomplish that. The copy stand is reasonably sturdy, but the amount of camera shake during close focusing is considerable. That said, I don't know of any better copy stand for this purpose in a similar price range.I'm using a Lumix GX85 with the Olympus 60mm macro lens to do the photography. With the camera mounted at the lowest possible position, the 35mm slide image mostly fills the frame. Being able to move the camera further down would be a little bit better. Not related to the copy stand, but perhaps helpful to others trying to do slide scanning: I found that f/2.8 and f/4.0 provide best sharpness with this lens. Stopping down the aperture further results in noticeable loss of sharpness due to diffraction. I would be very curious to try this with a newer camera supporting sensor-shift high resolution mode. ### ⭐⭐⭐ It works, but I wish I got something nicer. *by I***. on May 15, 2025* It's a great deal for the price, but you could get something used for the same price that works better. It's a little wobbly and finicky, but it gets the job done in a pinch.
