As long as the finish is non-porous they will work fine. We manufacture products with Polyester, Vinyl and Polycarbonate Laminates. They all work fine with the markers we provide. If you are talking about a Matte Laminate Countertop they also work well on that surface. The key is non-porous to keep from staining. Always test a new surface in a inconspicuous location. **Q: Where do you put the pen? Is it magnetic also?** A: We do not have a "pen holder" at this time. This has available, 1/2 mm, 1mm, 2mm and 6mm. http://amzn.com/B016L2G3YC A great companion to the Magnetic Backed Ziggyboard. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Almost as smooth as a whiteboard *by R***N on September 30, 2016* stuck this little baby on a 1.7cu ft fridge placed on top of my desk, and it is just amazing. can be easily wiped clean by anything wet. the technique is to wipe the residue with a dry paper towel, and it's as good as new. since my compact fridge is cube-shaped, i needed to cut 6.5x16 off the board. stuck this piece to the side of my fridge, and voila--some extra writing space. the cutting part was my main concern before placing my order. the description indicates that a sharp knife may be needed, but i was able to cut it with a pair of dollar scissors.on a side note, i purchased some extra chalk markers by chalk talk. they work perfectly with the board, but i believe any liquid chalk marker would. the product is just that good. would give this 10 stars if i could. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A decent board for your fridge: don't think twice) *by A***A on March 21, 2016* I've looked through several reviews on Amazon to find the right board to write notes on the fridge, just for me and my hubby, nothing fancy. I didn't want to pay too much money but also didn't want to end up with something cheap that won't work. I should have read more about the product. I thought that the board itself would be of actual chalkboard texture and look. It is pretty much a marker board. I also thought that the writing tool would have been more like chalk or would have been actual chalk. It, however, is a marker that writes in white. Still, it is a nice product. I like to use it for writing down small grocery lists.
