It's a semi hard builder which I can soak off easily, but gives strength like hard gel. I use on myself and clients with natural nails and extensions. Second set was on my client's natural nails which she grew from nubs to get to that length with this ibd gel. Proper nail prep is key. The negative reviews are from people inexperienced with gels. I've previously used a rubber base builder gel which is fine but I wanted something more sturdy. First impression: amaze! First f all I used the sheer pink. It's good and thick but not so much that it oozes out everywhere when you put the brush back in the bottle. It applies easily and smoothly. It does not have any muscle memory though so you will want to cure it as soon as you get that shape you want. I was able to use my drill file to smooth any areas that were uneven. I normally would do press ones with builder gel but decided I want to repair some broken nails by extending the nail with builder gel. As a first timer with this, I found it incredibly easy and am still astonished at how good it looks. The gel comes with very detailed instruction and without misspelling or translation issues.
