I have an old Celestron NexStar 114GT I purchased on sale at one of the big warehouse stores around the time Mars was closest to Earth. It wasn’t until now that I started using the telescope hooked up to a laptop. Due to the age of my telescope, it isn’t easily supported by newer software, and I’ve tried quite a few. The only software that works properly is a Windows OS (7 & 10) program called DeepSky using the ASCOM v4.1 driver supplied with the program. At first, I couldn’t get anything to work and I was about to return the cable until I came across information that you have to manually do the alignment of the telescope then set the tracking on the controller to allow the RS232 connection. Once you do that, all you have to do is select an object to view in DeepSky, then the telescope slews there automatically. It’s awesome! I will continue to attempt getting other software working under different operating systems, but for now at least I know this cable works, and quite well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Worked for my AVX telescope mount *by D***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2021* I needed to connect my Celestron AVX mounts’ hand controller to my computer.
