I didn't need to reference the index at all. Search and find whatever you are looking for. It helped tremendously when you are in a time crunch and need to get homework or tests done quickly. There is also a great highlighting option with four different colors to choose from. Also, you are able to bookmark multiple pages and they will be stored in the memory for easy reference. I say that because the marketing textbook was in great condition, like described in the information before I purchased it. It had it's original plastic wrap and there was the online access number as well. This book is very useful for my class since my professor uses many of the charts and example questions. It was worth the money, which was still cheaper than any book store could have offered, and it was practically new. I just want to mention that the book has a line on the binding pages, I believe this happened while shipping, so I don't blame the seller.
