I wanna catch some of your 30# cats that this pole can’t handle! **Q: Is the 8’ an effective rod from shore for reservoirs?** A: Depending on your reel, 8 ft. Is more than adequate. I use this with an Ambassadeur reel and it is absolutely killer. **Q: can this be used with a spinning reel?** A: They come in two versions. Casting and spinning. The spinning have larger guides for the reel to cast effectively. I have the casting version does well with 3 oz weight.
