It's truly plug n play. I haven't tried booting games from a hard drive but this works perfectly with my backup games. There's even lots of extra room on the 32mb version to save your games. Plays import games too. I never really stopped playing my PS2 but now i can excited again to play games i never could before i had free mcboot. It's worth every penny. And this particular product seems to be of top quality. It also has a convenient cheat code loader and it lets you move save data to/from a USB stick and, of course, it also just works as a memory card so you can save your games to it.
