However the unit is one of the best and most dependable irrigation controllers on the market today. I installed my Rain Dial on a 3 valve irrigation system in 2002 and never had a problem with the unit. My advice is to buy the RD600 6 station irrigation system. **Q: Are these units smrt logic® compatible?** A: Not unless you are a hacker willing to add some component that enables such capability. This is pretty much an electro-mechanical controller, set and forget for a basic job of turning on a set of water valves for lawn watering. **Q: What adapter are they referencing in the customer review from Sept. 7, 2012? Do we need to purchase that also for a replacement installation?
