    Speck WHO?

*by T***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 18, 2015*

Having a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (Verizon), means never being able to find what you thought was your favorite smartphone case or even one similar, with the same protection and as many of the same specs as is possible, whether you are shopping in the large big box electronics stores, at any of the wireless company stores, on Amazon, eBay and even online at the "favorite case's" website, which is what motivated me to look for a different brand of case, and in turn lead me to Caseology. First I'd like to say that shipping on this product was SUPER FAST! I was surprised to see it in my mail box only two days after ordering. Secondly and most importantly, I felt Speck was the only case for me and I'm finally finding out different. It took me three weeks to even get a case from Speck for my New Note 5 and the color choices were mundane at best. Two choices; grey/blk & wht/black. I need a case that is lightweight, thin, yet protection from drops (not yet describing front facing drops), is a must, as I am very clumsy with everything, especially my mobile phones. I do not usually make a change this important and blindly order a phone case, no matter how pretty it looks, especially at the price point that the Wavelength is sold for, as I feel you get what you pay for. Being sick and tired of not finding the case I truly wanted and reading a few reviews for the Wavelength, loving the color choices, and of utmost importance is the grip feel on the back of the case, that I read about in the Amazon reviews and specifications, I did, for the first time, blindly order the Caseology Wavelength from Amazon. I've been wanting a Navy blue case for a very long time and waiting on that other company became annoying and wore my patience thin. So, I took the plunge and ordered Caseology's Wavelength in navy. Although the color is beautiful and it is a true bright Navy, I'd love to see it in a darker navy, as the darker shades are more my style. The metal accent look on the case makes it look very stylish, even sophisticated, but not too extravagant or gaudy. I don't usually care for gold, and when it came in and I saw the color of the metal, I noticed that it really is a cross between gold and silver. More like a champagne color, which I was extremely happy with. (I read this in another review, and that review helped me make my decision, regarding the "gold look"). The buttons on the sides work flawlessly and are quite effortless to push, which is another plus for me, having early onset arthritis in my joints, more specifically in my fingers & thumbs, which we all know is a body part that is a must for using devices, and the easier on me, the better. My MEEAudio headphone jack and any all of my lightening fast Samsung chargers, Aux cables, etc, fit easily into the cutouts for their purpose and I can quickly access my S Pen with no problem. Another important point is that the Wavelength fits effortlessly on my "Verizon" wireless, lightening fast charger and completely charges my phone in the same amount of time as it did when I used the other company's case. No problem in this area what so ever. Protection for the back facing camera and flash is very well protected, but not so much that you cannot get to them in order to clean the lenses and light area, which has been a problem with past cases. Now, the only negative I forsee, so far, is that the lip around the front face of the phone is not as high as other cases that I've been using, and this gives me pause, due to the fact that I've dropped many phones that landed face down and would have definitely busted the glass shield and most likely the phone's screen, yet due to the tall lip, my phone's face was saved from cracking. I did notice that the lip on the Wavelength is slightly slanted outward, whereas on other cases it sits straight up and down. This could give better protection, or not, as I'm not sure yet. A positive reason I mention this slant outward, is when editing photos, and for all fellow significant photogs out there, this is a huge plus! It is much easier to, for just one example, crop a photo without the lip getting in the way, when using your fingers for editing, instead of an SPen or Stylus, on the Caseology Wavelength compared to the cases with a lip that is a straight line vertical lip. I've not yet dropped my phone face down with this new Wavelength, but if I do, I'll be sure to discuss what happens here in this review.Overall, and additionally at Caseology's price point, I'm exceedingly happy with my new smartphone protective case, so much so, that as long as the lip protects front facing drops, I just might have to purchase more Wavelengths in more colors, and it truly goes to show that the old adage "you always get what you pay for" isn't true in all things. Thanks Caseology and I am already looking forward to your October 31-November 3 rollout of your leather case line!

I’m not someone who likes to use cases on my phone for several reasons. Phones nowadays are incredibly resilient and the aesthetic quality of the devices are so much more beautiful than the cases you hide them away in. That being said, I’m very satisfied with the Caseology case now wrapping my Galaxy Note 5.I opted for the Navy/Gold option. My phone is black, so the colors blend well. The case is a single form, composed of a polycarbonate outer shell with both a rubber infill including buttons, as well as a textured rubber infill on the back of the case. I opted for this model in the Caseology line for this rubber feature, as I like a phone to have a bit of tactile-ness in my hand. And while it’s definitely grippy, I’d really hope to just have a tad bit more “grip”.A completely unintended feature of the case (and totally appreciated!) is the functionality of the buttons within the case. My phone has ALWAYS suffered from sticky, unresponsive buttons. Even after some warranty work, the buttons began sticking again after a few days. However, most likely due to the quality fit, my buttons no longer stick within the case. Perhaps a coincidence, but I’ll give the case credit.Another note on the quality of the case. Caseology is not as much of a “household name” like phone case manufacturer Speck is, but purchases a Speck case for an iPhone in the same week, I can’t imagine spending twice as much on a Speck case, when the build quality of the Caseology case is far superior. Having a Speck case with poor rubber fitment and very poorly trimmed edges, the Caseology case doesn’t suffer from any of those unfortunate downfalls. The rubber fits tightly from edge to edge, does not peel from anywhere, and overall just looks really good. Same goes for the plastic case – finish is durable and well applied. I will say there are a few visible seems in the plastic (something I’ll admit the Speck case did not have), but it’s negligible.Overall, very happy with the case. It doesn’t add noticeable weight, and the 2 mm or so in thickness that it adds is equally unnoticeable. It fits well, it looks good, and it’s held up to my unfortunate habit of sending my phone flying off counters. I would definitely purchase a Caseology case again.

    Ok up to a point

Bought this to replace very cheap nasty one which used to glue cards into the case pockets, lose it's surface and not close when filled with more than 2 cards. Unfortunately this also sticks cards into it's pockets and can't hold many cards without the closure not working. Other than that quite good quality and reasonably robust.
