a good resew blade for band saw

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2023*

test cut was straight with no waviness. 1/8 cut left 2 pieces of lath - cut surface not very smooth, but will plane or sand smooth, allow for clean up is the lesson.use of the pam cooking spray on blade per directions was a new thing for me, it seemed to work well.

    Not great for ripping

Long story short, i bought it for resawing big chunky lumber, and was never able to get it to track a straight line. The 1/4" wide timberwolf blade does a much better job. The conventional protocol for bandsaw blades is to use wider blades for resawing and milling, and thinner blades for intricate jig-saw work, but all of my experience has shown the opposite to be true with regard to resawing. A 3/4" wide blade, once it starts to head off at an angle, will continue to veer, and it's nearly impossible to convince it to track straight again, whereas a 1/4" blade will carve out enough of a curf so that the blade can return to center under it's own tension.I am an old carpenter, have logged thousands of hours on a circular table saw, but am a total noob to bandsaws, so i admit that there may be some issues with how i have my band saw set up / adjusted. That said, i have spent a considerable amount of time adjusting blade tension, the tension on the guide bearings, the height of the upper guide bearings, to no avail. The 1/4" blade tracks true every time, regardles of how the saw is set up, and even if i could get the saw adjusted well enough to get the wide blade working, I'm not really interested in working with a blade that requires perfect conditions to operate.Obviously this is not supposed to be a criticism of this particular product. I dont have enough experience to fairly criticize it, other than to suggest that perhaps a blade with more outwards bend on the teeth, to cut a wider curf, might track straighter. Mainly im just trying to prevent others from dealing with the same problems i had and suggest that, especially if you're new to band saws, you might want to at least start with a 1/4" blade, even if you're using it for ripping big lumber.

    Bandsaw blade

*by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2022*

I Used the timber wolf bandsaw blade to cut thru seasoned cherry wood. My cuts ranged from 4" to 8" diameter, and it was like cutting thru warm butter. The cut pieces were very smooth no ragged edges. I don't think my saw even slowed down while cutting thru the 8" pieces. I saw very little blade drifting. My cuts remained straight and true. It did leave a good bit of saw dust, more then my other blades. I'm very pleased with this blade. I've just started using this blade so I don't have a feel for the longevity. I followed the set-up instructions that were provided with the blade which were very helpful. These are for general installation but very informative. The wood I was cutting is for fire wood so I wasn't concerned about the overall cuts but this blade worked extremely well.
