I got this because of the many lairs and its shielded. For the price cant beat it. I live in Washington state so i wanted water proof and its ran outside as I have ran my own cable for a 2 story house many runs under the house and a run up to the attic that drops down to a switch up there.I have a switch on each floor. also ran a fresh cable from pole to my modem and now no signal loss this is shielded with foil, plastic and material on-top the UV outer jacket. And has drain wire so be sure to use shielded termination on cat6 RJ45 or punch down. If you do not correctly ground the drain wire you are not using this cable to its full potential.I am very happy with perches even if it was more then I needed. This is definitely industrial quality great if running a trunk cable to a switch in another building, outside or direct burial, or if you live in a wet area or you just want to make sure your infrastructure is set for a 10GB network if you have the hardware to support it 10bGb switches and network cards for your servers and devices.FYI those are expensive by the way like $1k+ for switches and $200- $300 for a NIC if you are thinking of a local LAN. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent high quality cable. Great for long outdoor runs. *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2017* First of all this is a high quality cable. Excellent build quality and great performance. I made some long runs about 200 feet through buried pvc conduit. It pulled easily enough using a metal fish tape. Pulling 200 ft through 180 degrees of turns was a beast though! Anyways, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND terminating this cable using a punch down or keystone. I used some punch-down CAT6a keystones that worked great. I also made a couple pulls to some POE wireless bridge APs and terminated those using RJ45 jacks. It was nearly impossible! It took me about 20 minutes per jack to terminate. Don't even bother trying to get the jacket into the connector. Just get it as close as you can and make sure you don't have any shielding hanging out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for outdoor use *by C***P on Reviewed in the United States on March 23, 2013* I was running wired Cat6 from the basement up to the top floor, and could not run it through the house; I needed something to run up the side. Other online electrical supply stores wanted ridiculous prices, so I found this and purchased it. The price was reasonable and it is outdoor rated, including direct burial and UV rated. I bought this and then sold the remainder to a co-worker who wanted to run wired Ethernet out to his "barn" (really a mancave), which he buried to run out there. Been using for a couple of years and no visible degradation due to UV so far.
