I built a ramp and put my front tires on two pieces of Formica with grease between. The gauges kept turning off while making measurements the battery saving mode is too short. When I turned wheels to get caster measurement the gauge assembly would fall off wheel after a couple of measurements. I had them as tight as possible. You need some kind of strap to hold gauge assembly on wheel. The gauges do not measure degrees for toe in, you need degree wheels to set toe in in degrees. Most alignment specs are in degrees for toe in. Other wise you can get fairly accurate alignments with the quick trick. Toe is measured by the tape measures from side to side on the frames. The tape measures reflect standard and metric. Alignment specs for toe will reflect inches and degrees. We have a database which shows both from 1960 - 2019. The gauge measures caster and camber in degrees, as typically specified in specs. Hope this helps. **Q: Can this tool do complete 4-wheel alignments front and rear? How do you know what the individual toe is on each wheel with this system - not total toe** A: The answer is yes. We have a 4 wheel frame set up on the site, but if you are just looking to move the frames to front and back they are compatible either way. We recommend (if total toe is off) that you strong one side of the vehicle to determine how much it is off and get the results for both sides with less hassle.
