I specifically wanted the loop on the end so that I could hook it on the keyring. I've had no problem saving and using documents, pdf files, photos, and video clips for my lessons. It works seamlessly with a Mac, Chromebook, and PC. It's small and seems to be sturdy, though it is made of plastic. With the key ring built in it's super convenient to take everywhere on my keys. The flexible cover protects the contacts, even though that's not absolutely necessary. I had another brand before (I don't remember which) that had no cover for the contacts, and used it for two years with no problems. The previous drive had two big problems: attaching it to my keys was a real jerry-rigged mess; and the tiny hole available for a "strap" was part of a thin sleeve the actual drive was glued into. The glue gave up and the memory/contacts part fell out somewhere. Being able to clip this drive around my neck, keychain or name badge has been a valuable convenience for me. Here is how you do this modification.Since this is made by Verbatim, I can be assured the drive will survive two holocausts and a space invasion before dying of natural causes, so I don't see the need to wait on writing a reviewI bought aΒ  ADATA S805 Sport 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive AS805-8G-CGY (Grey) Β to have as a replacement for the Tuff-Clip. Buy the smallest capacity drive because the chip will be thrown away (it's likely defective anyway, as was mine). You will take this drive apart.The colored plastic shells on the A-Data drive pry apart inside the key ring area. Carefully pry these apart and you'll hear the gummy adhesive tear away. Be slow and give the adhesive time to release. These two shells form the axle that the USB assembly rotates on. The USB assembly will now be freed from the housing.The USB assembly is composed of a plastic frame, a SIP chip, and a metal shroud crimped around it. Very carefully pry the metal shroud back open, not much, only enough to free it from the frame, which doesn't take much. Hemistats are nice tools for the job. Slide the shroud off and you will clearly see the SIP package glued to the plastic frame. With a knife, slowly pry the SIP from the gooey adhesive. It's the same adhesive that attached the plastic shell. Make sure to not get this SIP confused with the Verbatim one.Take your Verbatim drive, slowly pry the plastic tray backwards to release the glue and extract the chip. Be sure to limit the torsion force placed on the chip so that it doesn't flex. The traces are printed directly on this chip and wrinkling of them would likely destroy the device. So flex the plastic instead, maybe even use a hobby knife to trim away the glue strands.Insert the Verbatim chip into the plastic tray of the A-Data drive. The Gold colored contacts should be exposed. Shape the metal shroud into a perfect rectangle box shape before re-attaching. This is the most difficult step that requires to most coordinated dexterity. I used keys and a clean desk to target applied pressure points to flex the metal into the correct shape. Once it was in shape, slide the metal shroud in the same orientation it was in when you took it off. The remained of the assembly is reverse steps. Attach the plastic covers by correctly positioning the drive assembly, and press hard.
