They are sharp and feel solidly made. I like the little angled "nook" near the base for heavy-duty cutting. The bottle opener is a bonus. I don't care for the fish scaler but I'm guessing one day in the future I'll be glad it's there...doesn't take away from them as is though. Time will tell if the black plastic holds up over time. So far these seem sturdy and well made, even considering the inconsequential casting bits which weren't well cleaned up on the black plastic.
